*cough*

*dusts off the LJ*

So, since apparently a) I suck, and b) it's difficult to get a lot of people on together at the same time, but c) I still love the idea of the game, I decided to take another stab at reviving it. On a messageboard, this time. n.n; However, as you guys had some pretty cool ideas, it's still open to y'all. You'll have to register with RPOL in order to play, though, but it's a fairly painless process. If you'd rather not, all things considered, I can't exactly blame you. XD;

Exalted HS on RPOL.net, if you're still interested. Do read over the Notices, there's been a few minor changes.

Okay. ><;; I'm really sorry about the huge delay that's happened--partly it was end of the semester stuff, then moving, then losing Internet access for nearly a month, but there's really no excuse for halting this long. Who is still up for continuing, however?

How does Wednesday evening, starting about 8 EST, work for everyone for the practice combat? z_z Starting with physical first, and then if there's time, social; if not, social combat can be handled another day.

It's the 20th. I HAVE MY CHARACTER C_C_|| close to being done...I just need to confirm something. ...so, uh, can I have until Monday? It'll be set then, and...um, I just need to make sure this character works and that I didn't royally screw it up in my learning curve that I imposed upon myself.

(It helps when you realize that certain stats /start/ at one when you only have six points to spend between 4 of them.)

Today's the 19th. You know what that makes tomorrow. :)

I'll be around on-MU* tonight, for questions or just general hanging-out. ~_~

May 20th.

Character sheet.

If you're having difficulties, or any questions, really, contact me! I can be found on AIM or via gmail (same as the LJ name) most easily. If you'll have a lot of problems making the 20th, I can be persuaded to extend it a couple of days, but not much more than that, please. 6_6

Okay, guys. I'm finally going to set a hard line. >_< Get your character sheets in to me by May 20th, or else no game for you, by the power of Kenpachi's 8D! That's two weeks from now, so I'm thinking that should be enough time. I'll be on the MU* space on Wednesday the 10th and Saturday the 13th to answer any questions and/or help people through the character creation process and explaining world things--time negotiable, but definitely after 10 p.m. EST, and possibly before then.

I'm aiming to start an actual scene by, say, the weekend after the 20th, and possibly run a practice combat (physical and social) to help people learn the ropes before then, in the week between. What times are good for you guys to meet regularly?

Shades of Impenetrable Cool
1-dot Artifact, 2-mote attunement

With lenses crafted of thin, translucent black jade, these sunglasses offer elan and mystery at a very low price. When attuned and wearing them, the bearer gains 1 to MDV, and gains 1 die for the purpose of impressing others. Simply holding them confers the die, as well, though the MDV bonus is lost. Multiple iterations do not stack, and in fact negate the bonuses.

And I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it at the moment. Most of this stuff are also things that would be covered during orientation; setting it down here just means I can skim past it instead of infodumping in one massive chunk during the first scene. ~_~

So far, for characters, we have:

- oneironaut: Thrice-Perfected Scarab Odalisque, somewhat unnerving, dispassionate boy
- lstone: perverted ex-monk, if he can D:
- sirusavi: just a plain perverted smuggling ring guru
- kouryoku: total geek?
- skavenger: flighty, over-the-top, constant performer
- atrocity: goodie-goodie mischievous drama girl?
- kotoludi: Napoleon Dynamite ...?
- nimriye: Kimblee & Selphie's lovechild explosion-happy (and just happy) girl?
- durodragon: emo gothy boy?
- final_destiny: agile ne'er-do-well?
- ensign_tom: ...?
- nabikasu: one of the staff.
- feralknights: Nice, upstanding young boy.

Question marks indicate ones that are still somewhat uncertain in concept, at least that I last heard. If I did indeed hear of them at all.

...and there's a lot of question marks. D: Clarify please, people! No, we probably won't be getting started for a while (helloooo finals hell), but it's good to know what kind of makeup the group has so that I can plan better--and, for that matter, who /is/ playing for certain. If anyone has decided they don't have the time and/or the interest, or isn't sure if they will, please do let me know. This is a pretty large group as it is; while it's easier than it might be otherwise due to format and the flexibility of the setting, the best options right now are either trimming down a touch or recruiting an assistant ST. ^^;

Also, in that vein, what kind of things would you like to do? Or rather: is there anything you would particularly like to see happen? I can't promise anything, but I can try to work things in if they're especially wanted.

A brilliant, hilarious, frankly terrifying examination of tactical Second Edition combat by the mind behind Arianna Explains and Mnemon Explains: Exalted 2E Combat 201. I feel like I have a handle on this now.

At this point, I'd like to hear what basic concepts for characters you guys have come up with. I don't necessarily need character sheets (though if you have them, that would be lovely) but a rough description will do. Comment here, or email it to autumnflame-at-gmail.com.

Also, I'm curious--how long do you guys want this to run, in terms of number of sessions/episodes? I'm thinking of structuring it as highly episodic, and spanning all four years, but how long is spent on each year depends on how long it's going to take overall.

The Freedom Stone is such a cute little Exalted comic striplet thing. Also has some nice side-explanations about setting things that come up in the comic, and the "WTF is Exalted?" page is a pretty decent one-paragraph summary. ~_~

Okay, kids. I've finally been able to set aside some time to work on my character and I'd like some input from the other players, if only to know that I'm not stepping on anyone's toes.

I'm currently leaning towards the 'ninja kid' archtype from the Night Caste. While the kid's got remarkable dexterity and related acrobatic and ninja skills, his primary focus right now is on being a sly smartass. His manipulation and socilization stats are his highest. He's not a crafty and devious character, at least, not in the Dr. Doom kind of way. More like Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

I've just distributed the attributes and abilities and they may change a bit (hence why they aren't posted). I wanted to make sure this character was good and sound before I went forward with it. So, we cool?

If there's any interest in making a Lunar character, use the rules here as a replacement and supplement for the official ones.

Also, I love this flavor for Lunar Limit Breaks. I add that they gain Limit in the normal way, and ignore the bit about non-Silver Pact Lunars being more likely to Break. Full Moon Breaks last for a number of hours = Essence, Changing Moons and No Moons for days = Essence. No Moons' trances aren't true, moreover, but it certainly makes sense to them at the time. They gain -1 dice to any action that involves focused thought over the period of their Limit Break.

Tee-hee. I'm special.

Fast question...how much of the setting should our characters know? Everything that the book says, or should our characters assume the world is a lot like ours, where there's nothing strange going on?

Or, to put it in easier terms, how much should /I/ read so that my character doesn't sound like an idiot for not knowing something everybody else does?

- One can have only up to 3 points in Manse and 3 points in Artifact. (I'm looking at you, sirusavi and feralknights. :|) That, or a really amusing reason as to why a kid would have a 4+ points in Manse/Artifact.

- Adding new languages costs 3 exp for the first additional language, and 2 exp thereafter (1 if Linguistics is favored) and does not add dots to the Linguistics ability. Raising Linguistics is just for when you want to raise how well the character reads/analyzes written things/writes/etc.

- A system for computers and Solar Charms for hacking--replace One With the Code with First Computers Excellency, though--and Abyssal charms, similarly.
